Hi, I’m Jaalah Olver and I’m so glad you are here

I am a licensed clinical social worker working in private practice in Birmingham, Alabama. It is my true honor to walk with clients during their healing process. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma and trauma related issues, coping skills, and relationship difficulties. I work from a person centered and trauma/attachment focused perspective. My hope is that you would feel heard and seen as we walk through life’s hard moments past, present, and future together.

I have been trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and have completed Behavioral Tech Institutes DBT Foundational Training and DBT Skills Training. DBT is aimed at helping clients treat emotion dysregulation while building effective coping skills. Additionally, I have received two years of Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) supervision/training to help clients process trauma. This is an attachment-based therapy that works to heal trauma through accessing and experiencing core emotions while being connected to another human.

I earned my Bachelors in Human Development and Family Sciences from Samford University and my Masters in Social Work from Samford University as well. I spent three years working at a group practice as a Clinical Supervisor. I worked with individuals, led DBT skills groups, and supervised other therapists before entering into private practice. I am so looking forward to connecting with you, hearing your story, and meeting your individual needs.
